Welcome to Reality

As hard as that movie was to watch, it was absolutely amazing! I don't think I have ever wanted to cry more, but I tried hard to hold back. I can't believe that story did not get news coverage, but it is not surprising. A lot of people think journalists have to be insensitive to be able to tell these stories and to see that war going on, but they do all of that to allow their audience to be sensitive. A journalist in a warzone is as dangerous as being a soldier on the front line! How can anyone think they are insensitive for reporting it on these traumatized children, when they go through so much emotional grief to do so. They are not given enough credit. It must be so hard. One of the men said “I’m just a journalist” but those words are so much more powerful than anyone realizes. I loved how the music always seemed to contradict the situation. Like the song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” when people ignored the story, they didn’t even fathom what was going on. Is it possible for journalists to be desensitized to such tragedy? Journalists are risk their lives for these stories.
